Alex Diaz, a former gang member in Boston, is trying to recruit members to a program called Boston Uncornered. The program is designed to break the cycles of poverty and violence that trap gang-involved youth by identifying their unique gifts and converting them into valued skills via customized academic, financial, and emotional support. It isn’t just about getting young people off of street corners, but putting them on sustainable, individualized paths toward fulfilling lives.
